[email protected]Dr. Adler-Tapia is a licensed psychologist who has worked with individuals encountering trauma, attachment and dissociation. She provides assessments of children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Her 33-year career includes providing counseling, consultation and psychological services for children and families referred by child welfare, Military Veterans, and Public Safety Professionals. She has authored several books, chapters, and articles on treating trauma. Dr. Adler-Tapia’s volunteer work includes collaborating on the CEBC update and SAMHSA approval for EMDR therapy with children, Mental Health Consultant for PISTLE, and as a member of the Arizona State Subcommittee on PTSD in the Military and Public Safety.
Dr. Robbie Adler-Tapia was originally trained in EMDR by Dr. Francine Shapiro, who originated and developed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. In 2005, Dr. Shapiro approved Dr. Robbie's treatment manual EMDR and the Art of Psychotherapy with Children as being consistent with the EMDR protocol developed by Dr. Shapiro and published in her textbook.
